What is UPK? |

UPK is a tuition free preschool program provided by the Lansingburgh School District. This program is for 4 year olds who live in the school district only. |

What materials will I need to purchase or send to school with my child?
A: In August you will receive a school supply list. This list asks for items such as glue, markers, tissues, wipes...etc. that will be used by the class throughout the year. Each child will need to bring a back pack to school each day. |

What does it mean to be Nationally Accredited? |

Accreditation is a voluntary process offered to childcare centers and early childhood programs. The Accreditation process ensures that a program goes above and beyond the minimum state standards. Accredited centers manifest a superior degree of compliance with state and local licensing agencies. There are many different Accreditation Agencies, but NAC and the NAEYC are the most used. How old does my child need to be to attend your program? |

We offer pre-kindergarten programs for children ages 3-5 years. You can choose from 2,3 or 5 half-days depending on the needs of your child. Refer to the Our Programs section of the website to see the programs and times we offer. |

Why can't my 3 year old attend the Nursery all day? |
A: |
Full day students repeat our morning schedule in the afternoon, along with dance and music class. We have accepted 3 year olds for the full day program in the past and have found it to be very difficult for them. They do not want to follow the routine in the afternoon and are not focused during our PM circle time. As we have, half-day students in the afternoon we need to repeat the schedule so that the PM students can benefit from the activities we did in the AM class. AM and PM activities vary, but to a 3 year old this is a VERY long day. Our 4 year olds wake up from nap energized and ready to learn more in the afternoon, this schedule is not developmentally appropriate for the 3 year old. When can I register my child in your program? |
A: |
You can register your child at anytime for any year (whether it be for next year or 2 years from now). The registration fee is $65.00 and is non-refundable. Paid registration holds your child's spot in class. We have open-enrollment all year, which means your child can start at any time if we have an opening. The most popular start times are September and January. We recommend that you register your child 6 months to 1 year in advance. Please feel free to contact us! |

What if I want to pull my child out? |

A two week notice is required if you wish to pull your child out of school and you are responsible for paying for those two weeks of tuition. |

Besides tuition and registration, are there any other fees we are required to pay? |
A: |
The only other fees are for Graduation (4 year olds) and Moving Up Day (3 year olds). These fees cover the cost of the children's caps, gowns, and diploma for Graduation ;and hat , medal and custom made shirt for Moving Up Day. If your child does not participate in these activities, then you do not have to pay the fees. |

Does my child need to be potty trained to attend the Nursery?
A: All children enrolled in the Nursery should be potty trained. If your child is learning to use the potty and still wets themself, they should come to school in a pull up.
